Filmmaker Andrew Bonime looks on as Stevens cuts 16 mm negative for their USC student film, 1969.
Andrew Bonime and Dennis F. Stevens edit their 1969 USC Film School production of “The Bound Man,” based upon the short story by Ilse Alchinger, wherein the bound man is awoken by the sunlight beaming onto his bloody forehead dripping with sweat which attracts flies that swarm just above him.

A twenty-year-old Dennis F. Stevens goes over the first two episodes of a teleplay he had been working on for famed director Sam Peckinpah, entitled “The Westerner” (Brian Keith - 1960).  The man pictured with Stevens is the Four Star Productions executive in charge of story development.  In his senior year of high school, Stevens wrote the screenplay which Peckinpah would later turn into “The Westerner.”
