HISTORY OF CINEMA ARTS
Formed in 1970 to produce the hit feature motion picture “The Harrad Experiment,” starring Don Johnson, Bruno Kirby, James Whitmore and Tippi Hedren, Cinema Arts Productions, Inc. went on to produce two more feature films and in association with Duke Goldstone and RFG Associates, Inc. several hundred television commercials and business films. Today the successor company, Cinema Arts Productions, LLC rents and operates its camera equipped, portable, miniature drone aircraft for location filming throughout the world. AERIAL CINEMATOGRAPHY In 1987, Cinema Arts leased two RPV (remotely piloted vehicles) from Israeli Aircraft Industries, one a miniature helicopter and the second a two engine, gas powered miniature aircraft with a radio controlled range of up to 50 miles; both equipped to carry either the Betacam video camera or the Arriflex 35 with 1,000 foot magazines, with start and stop capability. Today’s miniature aircraft can carry a variety of film and digital cameras, including the Red One series; which was used on the helicopter RPV model to film the Bahamas Paradise Island TV commercials. With an effective remote control range of up to 50 miles, these PPV drones rent for as little as $7,500 per day, including shipping and the drone operator plus the rental and insurance on your camera. We supply the drone, you supply a compatible camera. Upon request Cinema Arts Productions, LLC will furnish you with a list of compatible cameras. Because of the noise generated by these drones, all filming is MOS. TV COMMERCIALS Carrying on in the tradition of the late Duke Goldstone and RFG Associates, Inc. which did most of the TV commercial and business films for Westinghouse in the 1970s and ‘80s, Cinema Arts Productions, LLC still does a lot of video projects for the DoD, NASA, The Jet Propulsion Lavatories in Pasadena, and the Sun Group and Accor group of premium worldwide hotels.
