Dennis F. Stevens snapped this picture of iconic food & wine critic Robert Lawrence Balzer with Claude Taittinger, of the Champaign House of Taittinger, Reims, France.  

Stevens took this picture of Robert Lawrence Balzer during the ceremony of Confrerie de Bontemps, which was followed by a sit-down dinner as the guest of Henri Vandervoort and Baron Yves de Boisredon at Chareau Bellegraves, Pauillac, 1976.

Iconic food and wine critic, Robert Lawrence Balzer, a syndicated newspaper columnist and the person who gave out the coveted Holiday Magazine award to restaurants.  Photo taken by Dennis F. Stevens during a wine tasting at his home on Woking Way (Griffith Park), a part of the Walt Disney Estate.  
Marianne Valton was the tour guide on Robert Balzer’s 1976 French wine tour.  Dennis and Marianne hit it off on the tour and two years later Stevens hired her to be his interrupter and guide when filming TV commercials of select French wineries for the Japanese market.
